As part of the career guidance and counseling program, on Thursday, September 18th, our school hosted two panels: one for high school students and another for 7th and 8th grade elementary school students. The panels were led by psychologist Milica Lajbenšperger, educational consultant at the Educational Counseling Center Prestige Education.
The discussions covered a wide range of topics relevant to young students, including career choice, career creation and management, rational decision-making in career planning, differences between today’s and past perceptions of careers, current changes in the labor market, and the impact of pandemics, globalization, technological advancement, population aging, and climate change on the world of work.
Students showed particular interest in the most in-demand fields and future professions, such as financial advisors, geneticists, biomechanists, vertical farmers, and many others.
Among the wealth of useful and interesting information, the key takeaway is that it is worthwhile to invest in one’s knowledge and master essential competencies for future careers, such as creativity, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, presentation skills, and emotional intelligence - a lifelong process.
