Under the mentorship of geography teacher Isidora Marković, first-year high school students Nina Todorović, Katarina Spasić, and Hana Vidović participated in the Preventing The Next Global Health Crisis - One Health Hackathon 2026. on April 7, where they won 2nd place.
They competed alongside teams from various universities and, as the youngest team, proudly represented Kreativno Pero High School, making the entire educational community proud.
The students presented their topic Foodborne diseases - prevention (A One Health approach) to an expert jury, along with their original solution to the proposed challenge. The competition was held in Belgrade in cooperation with the Science Technology Park Belgrade and the French Institute.
The One Health Hackathon 2026 is based on the concept of interconnected human, animal, and environmental health, highlighting that more than 60% of infectious diseases originate from animals, while climate change, pollution, and antimicrobial resistance further increase global risks.
During the ten-day One Health Festival, the students had the opportunity to attend expert lectures on pandemic preparedness, zoonotic diseases, climate change impacts, and health management.
