Swiss Ambassador hosts in Belgrade Serbian team at the International Robotics Olympiad

On that occasion, the Serbian team, consisting of eight members from four schools in Belgrade, Mathematical Gymnasium, Kreativno Pero Gymnasium, XII Belgrade Gymnasium and Nikola Tesla Electrical Engineering School, received congratulations for the great success achieved at this year's Olympiad.

The Serbian team presented its project to the ambassador and representatives of the embassy, for which it had been preparing for several months. The solutions of the Serbian team at the Olympics were praised by the judges because of the robot's exceptional efficiency in cleaning the air and storing carbon dioxide, which was the theme of this year's Olympics. The competition was organized within global and regional alliances, and Serbia and Switzerland participated together in one of the alliances. Out of a total of twelve matches within the competition, the Serbian team won ten.

The participation of the Serbian team in the international FIRST Global competition is significant for spreading environmental awareness about the importance of protecting the atmosphere and slowing down the effects of climate change.

The ambassador suggested the students from the Serbian team to visit the science and technology park in Belgrade, the first functional science and technology park in Serbia established in 2015. The partners in establishing this park are the Government of the Republic of Serbia,  the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, the City of Belgrade and the University of Belgrade, with the support of the Government of Switzerland, and the park is a place of connection and exchange between institutions, science and economy.
