Secondary school Kreativno Pero realized the first symposium about the implementation of ICT in teaching - Learning for the Future which was held in Belgrade, on 20th June 2017.


Secondary school Kreativno Pero realized the first symposium about the implementation of ICT in teaching - Learning for the Future which was held in Belgrade, on 20th June 2017.

With the aim to make this event a place to exchange valuable information and experience and, Kreativno Pero symposium prepared prizes for five best papers - free professional development course in the licensed Cambridge Professional Development centre.

Kreativno Pero secondary school partners who supported the event were Hewlett Packard, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Golum, Smartacus and БК ТВ News.

Principal Gordana Kedzic gave an opening speech and emphasized I am certain that this symposium will encourage all who work with children and youth to understand the importance of using ICT in order to prepare for learning of the future.

Zozef Sestak, director of the First Global, the company which organized the first Robotics Olympiad in Washington this year, greeted the guests on a video.

The introductory lecture was held by dr Milos Bajcetic, a professor on the Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade, who spoke about the possible ways to improve education through ICT.

Irina Damjanovic, a biology and science (Cambridge) teacher in Kreativno Pero primary school  held the next fantastic lecture about ICT and how it is used in Kreativno Pero ES.

In diverse lessons that followed, the participants heard about a singing classroom, ICT as a tool for thematic approach, Beebot as a tool to develop computational thinking with preschool children, robot as an aid in learning, cybernetics in computer science, active learning using Arduino boards, using Wiki- articles in teaching Sociology, 2D codes (QR codes), animation applications in teaching English, animation of the beginning of Slovenian literacy using web tools and ICT as a tool for individualization.  

Symposium was concluded with seven workshops held on the premises of Kreativno Pero secondary school which were prepared by kindergarten teachers, pedagogists from Kreativno Pero ES. Participants  had an opportunity to get practical advice on Hewlett Packard classroom management, gamification in teaching, augmented reality, encouraging early literacz in developing English language competence and ICT tools, interactive videos and Khan Academy.

It is obvious that great responsibility lies in education system and programmes in order to fulfill this aim, the principal emphasized.
