Mandatory elective classes in ES “Kreativno pero” are conceptualized so that they develop the skills and talents of our students in order to familiarize them with the world that surrounds us in the best way possible.

Goals and themes of elective classes

In the first grade:

Religious Education

The goal of our orthodox religious course in this grade is the adoption of the premise that being is an expression of the wholeness of ones being, and that one exists only in unity and freedom with others.

Curriculum:

A Man is the icon of God (the man has the capacity to create with love, as can God)
God is a community of personality Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit (being as a communities, as love)
The man a social being
God created the world out of love with the Son and the Spirit
Jesus Christ is the mediator between God and created nature
The church is a community of all people and all of nature with God through Christ
Orthodox iconography shows the world and man in the community with God

Civic Education

Knowledge of self and others

The goal of this course is the development of personality and social knowledge. This course provides an opportunity to students to become active members in the process of education and to gain knowledge, skills, and values necessary to form an independent, competent, responsible and creative personality, open for collaboration, respectful of self and others.

First Topic – Facilitating the process of adaptation to the school environment and stimulation of social integration

Parent, student and teacher meetings. Exchange on mutual expectations, needs, requests, issues related to the change of environment
Familiarizing the student with the curriculum and expectations

Second Topic – Stimulating the development of self-awareness, ones feelings and needs, notion of self identity and character, self respect and self-esteem.

Third Topic – Discovery and communication of feelings; expansion of knowledge; expansion of knowledge and skills to solve personal problems, acquiring techniques to overcome unpleasant emotional situations.

Fourth Topic – Stimulating of team work, cooperation and deal making.

Fifth Topic – Stimulating social knowledge, understanding and acceptance of mutual differences; acquiring self assurance skills without aggression and with respect toward others.

Sixth Topic – Development of communication skills, constructive conflict resolution with peers and grown ups.

Seventh Topic – Familiarizing the students with children’s rights and encouraging and enabling students for active participation is school activities.

Chess

Goals:

The main goal of chess classes is to help students acquire knowledge of basic rules and principles of the game of chess thereby forming their working skills, conscientiousness, perseverance, persistence, tidiness, curiousness, creativity, originality and readiness for cooperation with respect towards other people’s opinion and with good manners. This class aims to instill in students the values of honest work, that tasks are to be completed on time and in a given work space, and to develop the conscious need to complete all started tasks.

Class curriculum:
